This past Sunday, Palm Sunday, we began the holiest of weeks, Holy Week. This week we prepare for the celebrations which will lead us closer to Christ and renew within us the commitment to be followers of Christ.
Holy Week consists of the Chrism Mass, Meaning of the Chrism Mass, which in our diocese is celebrated on Tuesday, April 11th, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. We encourage all of our school families to attend the services throughout Holy Week at their parishes.
In our school. we also remember the passion and death of Christ with a presentation of the Shadow Stations of the Cross. Students in our eighth-grade class bring the passion of Christ to life with this solemn presentation through shadow figure portrayals of each of the stations. It is a very moving presentation where even our youngest students quietly sit and watch the last hours of Christ’s life.
May this week leading up to Easter be filled with quiet reflection and contemplation of how our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ died for our sins.
